Prior to opening his criminal and DWI law firm in New Jersey, Mr. Herman was an Essex County public defender for seven years. He clerked for the Honorable Raymond W. Young, J.S.C., and served as an Assistant Deputy Public Advocate under Stanley C. Van Ness in the Mental Health Division of the Public Advocate office.

Mr. Herman received his J.D. from George Washington University School of Law in 1976. In 1972, he received his B.A. from Brown University.
